Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Experience

Key Skills and Responsibilities
- Telemetry & Dysrhythmia Management
- PCU/Stepdown Care
- IV Insulin & Heparin Protocols
- Renal Failure Management
- Cardiac & Vasoactive Drips (including titration)
- Blood Product Administration
- Tracheostomy Management
- Rapid Response Team Utilization
- Wound Care/Wound Vac
- Non-Invasive Airway Management (CPAP/BIPAP, Oxygen)
- EPIC Documentation
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
Licensure and Verification
- State License verification required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required for RNs
- Residency Declaration Form required if using a compact license from outside Ohio
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required prior to start)
- Unit-Specific Competency Exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (with remediation process if failed)
Background and Screening
- 7-Year Criminal Background Check within 90 days of start
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start (with specific code 3701.881)
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monthly monitoring required
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (or TB questionnaire)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption allowed with documentation)
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31) with mask requirement if declined
- COVID-19 vaccine not required but strongly recommended
Facility-Specific Policies
- Dress Code and Hand Hygiene Policy acknowledgment required
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting acknowledgment required
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Training Certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Ethics and Compliance Policies must be reviewed and signed annually for new contracts
Education and Credentials
- Verification of nursing education from accredited programs (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN) required immediately after contract signing
- Employment application and skills checklist required
This position requires a highly skilled RN with experience in telemetry, critical care protocols, and multiple certifications. Compliance with extensive health, background, and competency requirements is mandatory.
