Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Collect and integrate case history information from patients, families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals.
- Select and administer appropriate evaluation procedures tailored to patient needs.
- Recognize and respect the communication preferences, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of patients and their support systems.
- Conduct assessments for speech and language pathology, including speech and feeding-related impairments.
- Administer standardized testing to assess functional levels compared to age-related norms.
- Assess feeding and swallowing impairments.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care with measurable and achievable goals.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and relevant professionals (including pediatric PT/OT) in treatment planning.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and activities.
- Complete daily documentation and billing in the therapy electronic medical record (EMR).
- Fulfill annual clinical ladder requirements for senior status, including student supervision, project completion, and in-service training.
Qualifications
- Education: Master's Degree in a related field required.
- Licensure: Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Illinois (IDFPR).
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
