Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) - Temporary Position

Job Description

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly, documenting in clinical records per regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services based on patient evaluations; make referrals as needed.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding speech disorders.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members about patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
• Provide comprehensive discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Document all required information accurately in electronic systems and maintain patient records per company policy.
• Record treatment minutes in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards.
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings.
• Attend facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
• Obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as required.
• Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Adhere to ASHA and Missouri State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.
• Maintain active ASHA certification and Missouri State licensure.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of SLP experience (New graduates accepted if Level II experience is met; Level I observation only is not sufficient).
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) settings is required.
• Missouri State License is required.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is required.
• Preferred: 3 years of experience holding active CCS certification.
• One professional reference required at time of submission.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Additional Information

• 8-hour shifts, Night Bonus Offered (NBO)
• Overtime paid at 1.25x rate
• Missouri is a compact state for licensure
