Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (Travel)
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
- Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment type and frequency.
- Develop, implement, and monitor patient care plans and respiratory equipment.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions.
- Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
- Evaluate respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatment outcomes.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions and community support resources.
- Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.
Required Credentials & Compliance
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association required)
- Current Respiratory Therapist license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Ascension Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Onboarding (including a 6-hour pre-hire education attestation).
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) completed within the past year with a minimum 80% score.
- Ascension Skills Checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
- Ascension Education Verification completed within 90 days prior to start.
- Ascension Criminal Background Check and EPLS (Exclusionary Party List System) checks within 30 days prior to start.
- Ascension Employment Verification and Confirmation of Assignment documentation.
- Professional headshot photo (white or blue background, no filters).
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID matching address requirements.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite).
- Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine for flu season (October 1 through March 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
- Two-step PPD or IGRA testing within required timeframes.
- Proof of Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted).
- Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
Additional Notes
- The Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Form is completed onsite by the facility.
- Some onboarding documents and attestations must be uploaded by the agency prior to or at start.
- Professional references (at least two) required prior to first assignment.
This position offers a travel contract opportunity for experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists ready to provide critical respiratory care in a hospital setting.
