Travel RN Opportunity - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Travel RN for the Operating Room with experience in Orthopedics, Total Joints, Neuro, and Robotics. The position requires working three 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (0630-1900). Call shifts vary monthly, averaging 5-6 weekday shifts and 1 weekend shift every 8 weeks.
Unit Information
- Unit: Operating Room
- Number of ORs: 11
- Shift: Three 12-hour shifts, primarily weekends
- Call Expectation: Approximately 5-6 weekday shifts and 1 weekend shift every 8 weeks
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: ~8 RNs, 8 Scrub Techs, 5 Surgical Support Techs
- Night Shift: 1 Charge RN and 1 Scrub Tech in-house with call team backup
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Equipment: Variety of OR beds and equipment
- EMR System: Epic
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (Operating Room nursing)
- Experience with Orthopedics, Total Joints, Neuro, and Robotics cases
- Must be a patient advocate as a circulator and a resource for the sterile field
- Alaska Permanent RN license required for submission
Preferred Skills
- Experience as a circulator
- Experience as a scrub nurse
- CNOR certification
Typical Procedures
- Total Joints
- Multi-level spine fusions
- Various Xi Robotic cases (Gynecology, Colorectal, General Surgery)
- Minimal ENT, Dental, Eye, or Plastic surgery cases
Certifications Required
- Alaska RN License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Work Environment & Culture
- Positive outlook and willingness to collaborate with team members is essential
- Scrubs provided by the facility
