Description

Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry I

Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: January 5 (Non-negotiable)
Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week


Required Credentials & Certifications

Licenses & Verification (Required for Submission)

  • Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Driver's License or State ID (must not be expired and must match address on file)
  • Professional resume/profile
  • Two professional references
  • Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)

Certifications (Required for Onboarding)

  • BLS (AHA certified)
  • ACLS (AHA certified)

Health & Immunizations (Required for Onboarding)

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted but mask required
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred before start (annual update required)
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Recent testing and annual TB questionnaire
  • Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and TB questionnaire

Testing & Competencies (Required for Onboarding)

  • Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts
  • Ascension EKG Exam: Passing score of 80%, max 2 attempts; updated version required
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation
  • Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist, updated annually
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually; includes 12 specified drugs with MRO review if applicable

Professional Requirements (Required for Onboarding)

  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules (for non-allied positions)
  • Ascension Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually or after break in service >90 days
  • Ascension EPLS check: Within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service >90 days
  • Education Verification: Relevant to clinical work, completed within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service >90 days
  • Employment Verification: Past 7 years, updated annually or after break in service >90 days
  • Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions

Additional Notes

  • Some optional documents/checklists may be requested by unit leaders but are not mandatory for onboarding.
  • All required documents must be current and compliant with Ascension Health policies.
  • Compliance with all credentialing and onboarding requirements is mandatory prior to assignment start.

This position is ideal for RNs with telemetry experience who meet the credentialing and certification requirements and are available for a 13-week assignment starting January 5.
