CVICU Travel Nurse Opportunity - Prescott, Arizona

Contract Length

13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit)
Number of beds: 12
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 based on patient acuity
Shift length: 12 hours, 7 days a week
Weekend requirement: 2 weekend shifts per pay period (two weeks), may include Friday or Saturday nights; not necessarily every other weekend
Holiday requirement: Yes
Call/standby requirement: Yes, maximum 3 per 12 weeks
Floating: Yes, as needed to ICU, PCU, MS, Tele units across both campuses

Experience & Skills Required

Minimum 2 years CVICU experience
Must pass dysrhythmia exam with at least 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing
Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy), and fresh open heart surgery (OHS) from the OR
Ability to titrate drips (Yes)
Common titratable/set rate drips: Dexmedetomidine, Propofol, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Levofloxacin, Insulin, Cardene
Impella experience desired
Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system preferred

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)

Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI)
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD)

Staffing & Support

Charge Nurse and House Supervisor available 24/7
No nurse aides on unit
Intensivists in-house
Respiratory Therapists available department-wide 24/7 (not unit-specific)
Respiratory equipment includes ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, HiFlow

Monitoring & Technology

In-room monitors (Nihon Khoden)
No dedicated monitor techs; RNs read EKG strips

Orientation & Dress Code

Unit-specific orientation provided
Scrub color: Navy Blue

Additional Notes

Travel duo candidates must have their own vehicles and will not share schedules
Radius rule: Must live within 50 miles and cannot have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI or Dignity) in the past year
Floating assignments may include ICU, PCU, MS, Tele units on both campuses
