Pediatric RN - Inpatient (PICU & General Pediatrics)
Location: Bismarck, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
Seeking a Pediatric RN to work primarily in the PICU and general pediatric floor. The role involves managing critically ill patients requiring continuous nebulizers, BiPAP, DKA on insulin drip, as well as stable patients on the general floor.
Unit Details
- Unit: PICU and General Pediatrics
- Bed Size: 17 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:
- PICU: 1:1 or 1:2
- General Peds Floor: 1:3 or 1:4
- Equipment: EPIC electronic charting and medication system
Responsibilities
- Provide care in the PICU and general pediatric floor
- Float to NICU for grower/feeder assignments
- Assist in OB unit as needed
- Float house-wide to provide 1:1 sitter support for safety or suicide precautions when census is low
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts (1830-0700)
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- Work every other weekend and holidays
Required Certifications & Skills
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Experience managing PICU patients and general pediatric floor patients
Additional Information
- Must badge in and out at the facility
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs or child-friendly colorful scrub tops with navy blue pants
- Travelers typically receive a couple of orientation shifts
- Local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles are not accepted
- If previously employed by the facility, must have ended employment at least 6 months prior to submission
This position is ideal for experienced pediatric RNs comfortable with critical care and general pediatric nursing in a fast-paced hospital environment.
