Position Details

Unit Information

• Unit: Medical Unit 610
• Number of Beds: 43
• Staffing: Approximately 70 total staff

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 unit secretary, 9-10 RNs, 4 CNAs
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 9-10 RNs, 4 CNAs
• Patient Ratios:

  • Day: 1 RN to 5-6 patients
  • Night: 1 RN to 6 patients
• Floor: 5th
• Building: Main

Work Environment & Equipment

• EMR System: Meditech
• Typical Procedures: Any type of surgery excluding cardiac and open neuro surgery

Required Skills & Experience

• Must Have:

  • Previous med/surg nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Preferred:

  • Experience with Meditech EMR system

Personality & Work Style

• Willing to jump in and be a team player
• Comfortable asking questions when unsure of processes

Certifications

• No specific certifications required

Floating Assignments

• Medical unit and Emergency Room to provide med/surg hold nurse capabilities

Scheduling & Dress Code

• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
• Scheduling:

  • Self-scheduling allowed within reason to maintain balanced schedule
  • Rotating weekends required
• On Call: Rotating weekends required; details not specified
