Job Description
- Provide physical therapy services across various patient care areas including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology.
- Primary role involves inpatient patient care.
- Responsibilities include assessments, documentation, patient and family education, and safety & injury prevention.
- May float within scope to any therapy service line to meet facility needs.
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (start time flexible up to 8:00 AM).
- Required to work one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 weeks, with a compensatory day off during that week.
Experience & Licensure
- Minimum 1 year of experience required.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Must hold a valid state license (pending state license accepted).
- BLS certification required.
- Acute care experience and strong communication skills are essential.
- Desire to work with a variety of patient populations is important.
Floating & Local Rules
- Floating within therapy service lines is required.
- No floating to sister facilities.
- Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted.
Guaranteed Hours
- Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
- Cancelled shifts must be the regular shift length.

Required Skills & Special Requirements
- Acute care experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability and willingness to work with diverse patient populations
Certifications & Compliance Requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- State Licensed Physical Therapist
- Background checks including criminal, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific searches as applicable
- Education verification of highest degree related to profession
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must remain valid throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) with annual renewal
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframe
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Facility-specific documents such as HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Compliance with regulatory education and training modules, updated annually.
Additional Requirements
- No more than 7 days off within the 13-week contract.
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred).
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists may be required.
- Must complete all facility-specific onboarding and compliance documentation prior to start.
