Travel RN Opportunity – Critical Care Unit (CCU)

Location: Springfield, Tennessee
Unit: Critical Care Unit (CCU) – 8 beds

Unit Overview

• Patient population: Adults only (no pediatrics)
• Common diagnoses: DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, post heart catheterization
• Patient ratios: Typically 2:1, sometimes 3:1 depending on staffing and acuity
• Unit size: Small, 8-bed unit
• Staff tenure: Many nurses have 5+ years experience and are community residents
• Unit type: General critical care, not specialized

Work Environment & Equipment

• Equipment: Mindray Datascope monitors
• Documentation system: MedHost
• Unit staffing: Includes monitor techs and unit secretaries
• Scheduling: Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Floating: May be required to float to other units

Required Skills & Certifications

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI
• Advanced skills: Knowledge of ventilators, drips (sedation, vasoactive medications), care of central venous catheters (CVC lines)
• Procedures performed on unit: Bronchoscopy, CVC line placement, chest tube placement, bedside scopes (EGD, colonoscopy, PEG tube placement, trach placement)
