Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Position Details
- Specialty: Cath Lab Tech
- Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts
- Patient Ratio: 3:1
- Types of Cases:
- Scrub/Monitor cardiac diagnostic & PCI
- Prefer experience in structural heart procedures
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- On-Call Requirements:
- Up to 2 days per week on call
- Every other weekend on call
- Floating: Yes, within service line and scope (no floating to sister facilities)
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted
- Pending State License: Accepted
- Return to Office Restrictions: 7 days within 13-week contract
Certifications & Licenses Required
- National Certifications: IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) for allied candidates in Radiology
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Required (AHA only)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Preferred/required depending on unit
- Other Certifications:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) if applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) if applicable
- CPI or MAB (Crisis Prevention Institute or Management of Assaultive Behavior) if applicable
- IV Certification required for LPN/LVNs with Missouri license
- State License: Primary source verification required (Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS)
- Tech Certification: For allied professionals, certification by recognized bodies (AMT, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, ARMA, AMCA, or National Association for Health Professionals)
Required Background Checks & Compliance
- Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, sex offender, and international if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG quarterly checks
- Education verification of highest degree related to profession
- State-specific searches (Missouri and Illinois) as applicable
- Fingerprinting required for Illinois long-term care or rehab assignments
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel
- MO FCSR Worker Registration Form (time sensitive for certain clinical areas)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) annually, with specific protocols for failed tests
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination (Td acceptable for renewals)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray documentation (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer, vaccination, or medical exemption required
- Hepatitis B declination required (facility-specific)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept-April)

- Annual regulatory compliance education and training required
