Registered Nurse (PICU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: PICU Registered Nurse
  • Shift: Rotating shifts (3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts)
  • Shift Rotation: Shifts do not rotate within a 4-week schedule, but nurses should be able to work either day or night shifts during the contract
  • Ratios: 1:2 patient ratio
  • Weekend Requirement:
    • Day shift: 4 weekend shifts per schedule
    • Night shift: 4-5 weekend shifts per schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights count as weekends)
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1.5 years
  • First-time Travelers: Accepted
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: Yes, floating within scope required
    • Float to NICU required
    • May assist in Pediatric ED as a resource (IVs, meds, etc.) but will not have full ED assignments
  • Block Schedule Accommodation: Not guaranteed
  • Locals: Not accepted within 75-mile radius
  • Pending License: Accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Absences longer than 7 days require approval
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week contracted; facility may call off up to 3 times during the 13-week assignment

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • New Mexico RN License

Special Requirements / Skills

  • Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) & ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) procedures
  • Ventilator management
  • Working knowledge of inotropic drips
