Job Opportunity: RN CVICU - Nashville, Tennessee
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Location: Nashville, Tennessee
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Floating: May be required to float between different units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity. Notification will be provided before the scheduled shift.
Required Credentials and Certifications
Licenses & Verification
- Nursys Verification: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start. If any disciplinary actions exist, a FACIS Questionnaire must be completed and uploaded.
- Current Nursing License: Primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Driver's License/State ID: Must be current, unexpired, and match address on file.
Certifications (Must be AHA approved)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Health & Immunizations
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer required. No declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history required. No declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years. No declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31). Declinations accepted with mask requirement.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start but can be done onsite. Annual update required.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required with specific timing before start; annual TB questionnaire required.
- Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire required.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment; updated annually.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
Testing & Competencies
- Ascension Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics. Minimum 80% score, two attempts allowed.
- Ascension EKG Exam: Passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed. Must be updated to latest version prior to clearance.
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation required.
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
Onboarding Requirements
- Ascension Resume/Profile: Required for submission.
- Professional References: At least two professional references required prior to first assignment.
- Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check, and more. Must be updated annually or after breaks in service.
- Education Verification: Must be completed within 90 days of start; official transcripts required if verification fails.
- Employment Verification: Past seven years of employment verified; updated annually or after breaks in service.
- Ascension Onboarding Education Attestation: Completion of pre-hire education modules.
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Completed onsite.
- Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules required for non-allied positions.
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates for extensions.

- Optional: Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (uploaded by unit leader within a week), Hiring Manager Evaluation, Name Change Documentation.
This position requires thorough credentialing, health documentation, and compliance with Ascension Health’s onboarding and competency standards. Floating flexibility and adherence to all health and safety protocols are essential.
