Description
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position
Location: Dallas, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work in acute care and inpatient rehab settings within a large hospital (~1000 beds)
- Unit has 8 to 10 full-time and PRN Speech Therapists
- Day shift only (3 to 4 SLPs for adult patients), no night shift
- Patient caseload: 8 to 12 patients depending on evaluations and treatments
- Equipment used includes Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with the adult population in acute care or inpatient rehab
- Competency in Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) is required
- Certifications:
- ASHA Certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Licensure: Valid Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience specifically in acute care and inpatient rehab settings
Typical Procedures
- Dysphagia evaluations and treatment
- Cognitive evaluations and treatment
- Passy-Muir Valve (PMV) evaluations
Work Environment & Culture

- Dress code: Forest green scrubs
- Rotating weekends required, no on-call duties
