Travel RN Opportunity - Asheville, North Carolina
Position Overview
- Role: Rapid Response Team Nurse (not assigned to specific patients)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Contract Length: 26 weeks
- Facility Size: 815-bed hospital, Level II trauma center, includes a 97-bed children's hospital with a 51-bed Level III NICU
- Location: Asheville, NC (Blue Ridge Mountains area)
Unit Information
- Staffing: 2 core staff members per shift, 24/7 coverage
- Shift Example:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
- Night Shift: Similar staffing pattern
- Patient Ratios: Not applicable (rapid response role)
- EMR System: Cerner
- Floating: Throughout the facility as needed
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years ICU experience (mandatory)
- Highly recommended: prior rapid response team experience
- Preferred backgrounds: Medical ICU or Emergency Department experience
Typical Procedures
- Cardiac arrest management, targeted temperature management (TTM), post-resuscitation care
- Trauma, stroke, and STEMI workups
Certifications & Licenses
- Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Registered Nurse License
Work Environment & Culture
- Dress Code: Royal blue or house scrubs
- Schedule: Rotating weekends, no on-call responsibilities
