Description
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Travel Position
Location: Plano, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Overview
- Acute Care Hospital (Level 1 Trauma, Neuroscience, ICUs, ECMO, Burn, Oncology, Ortho & Spine floors) with 600 beds
- Inpatient Rehabilitation unit with 40 beds
- Staff includes 9 full-time Speech Therapists
- Day shift only; no on-call or floating requirements
- Must work 2 weekend shifts per month on a rotating schedule
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
- Therapy equipment includes walking equipment, bikes, bars, treadmills
Job Requirements & Skills
- Specialty: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years full-time acute care hospital experience (Level 1 Trauma preferred) or LTAC experience
- Must be highly skilled in completing modified barium swallow studies (MBSS) in radiology
- Certifications required: ASHA Certification, BLS
- Licensure required: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License
- Candidates without acute care hospital or inpatient rehab experience will not be considered
- Candidates with experience solely in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Outpatient, Pediatrics, or School settings are generally not considered

- Good sense of humor
- Ability to work 1-on-1 with patients providing speech therapy treatments
