Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Amarillo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12 hour days)
  • Call Required: Weeknights 7 PM - 7 AM, Weekends 7 AM - 7 PM
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years required
  • Epic experience within the last 6 months is required
  • Travel experience preferred
  • Certifications Required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • ARRT R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • CCI RCIS (Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
  • Holiday Requirement: Willing to work 2 out of 3 holidays if needed
  • No local candidates; must be willing to travel within a 50-mile radius

Required Documentation & Compliance

Background Checks

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
  • HHS/OIG check upon hire
  • Education verification (highest level of education must be verified)
  • Fingerprinting (time-sensitive for certain locations; must be completed onsite during orientation)

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS, BLS, and other certifications as applicable (PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, CPI, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification)
  • National tech certification verification as applicable
  • State license verification (primary source online verification required)
  • NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP as applicable
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
  • Color blind testing (online version acceptable)
  • Competency exams with minimum passing scores
  • Annual completion of Core Parts I, II, and III for subcontractors
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment (HIPAA compliance)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually
  • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire within 90 days of start (required annually if positive)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required; boosters if negative/equivocal
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, etc.)
  • Additional onsite drug screen during orientation (only one attempt allowed; failure results in cancellation)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 and fully vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption required; declinations not accepted
