Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology - Mammography Tech
Location: Edmonds, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform a variety of radiological technical procedures specific to the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in a high volume outpatient setting.
- Produce high quality diagnostic and screening mammographic images including:
- 3-D Mammography
- Diagnostic Mammograms
- Fine Needle Aspirations
- Needle Localizations
- Screening Mammograms
- Stereotactic Biopsy
- Interact with patients in a caring and comforting manner.
- Jointly responsible for quality control activities as mandated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and the FDA.
- New techs observe 25 exams before working independently.
- Must be open to floating to other campuses within the system.
- Patient Age Group: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience; 2 years of full-time mammography experience strongly preferred.
- Active Washington State license required to submit.
- Proficiency in diagnostic and screening mammograms.
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Department hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks: Must have a background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; updated annually.
- Education Verification: Required for all candidates; nursing degrees or related education must be verified.
- References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment Application: Must include at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format.
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Fit mask test (annual, travel only).
- Immunizations and screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual update required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
- Drug screening: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Respirator medical clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates.
Additional Notes
- Candidates new to the department will have supervised observation before independent work.
- Floating to other campuses within the Providence system is required.
- Must comply with all Providence Health and Services policies including float policy acknowledgment.
- Required to complete Providence-specific training modules via WorkRamp LMS prior to start, including annual regulatory and specialty-specific modules as applicable.
- Epic training modules may be required depending on assignment location.
- WA state multi-state licensed nurses must complete demographic attestations prior to start.
This position is ideal for a mammography technologist with experience in diagnostic and screening mammograms, who holds an active Washington license and is comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient breast imaging environment with some floating responsibilities.
