Surgical Technician - Contract Position

Location: Mammoth Lakes, California

Job Summary

The Surgical Technician assists with surgical procedures by performing scrubbing duties, preparing for procedures, and supporting the operative team. Responsibilities include maintaining sterile supplies and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a sterile field
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before use
• Anticipate equipment and supply needs before procedures
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and air-powered equipment per manufacturer instructions
• Scrub all surgical procedures, including specialty surgeries such as sports medicine and trauma, without sales representative presence
• Assist RN with operative charge completion and hardware recording
• Collect specimens and cultures, verifying source and tissue identification with surgeon

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Minimum one year experience in operating room as a Surgical Technician or completion of Surgical Technician training
• Certification or eligibility for certification preferred
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required
