Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Care for patient populations including Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry.
  • Positions available on Medical Surgical Unit and Telemetry Unit.
  • Must self-study telemetry strips before starting; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
  • ACLS certification is required.
  • Estimated work week is 36 hours with possible overtime.

Required Credentials & Compliance

Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required before onboarding (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required before onboarding

Licenses

  • Professional nursing license verification required prior to submission (Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start). For RNs, use BON & NURSYS.

Health & Immunizations

  • Influenza Vaccine (or facility declination) – Due annually by December 1 (season Sept 1 – March 31)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (declination accepted)
  • MMR – 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B – 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal
  • Tdap – Valid for 10 years; declinations accepted
  • TB Test – Negative test within past year (TSPOT or QuantiFERON IGG); if history of positive TB, additional documentation required
  • Fit Test – Completed prior to start with approved respirators

Background & Screening

  • Drug Screen – 10 panel within 30 days of start (THC not required)
  • Background Check – Within 30 days of start, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender registry
  • Adult and Child Abuse Registry Check – State requirement
  • Education Verification – Must be third-party verified or combined with diploma/transcripts
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG Screening – Within 30 days of start
  • References – 2 professional references required, including 1 supervisor
  • Resume/Profile – Required for submission
  • I-9 Attestation – Completed on agency letterhead
  • Other screenings: SING, NSO, OFAC within 30 days of start

Additional Requirements

  • GRH Skills Checklist – Complete within 12 months (does not expire)
  • BD Screening Attestation
  • Health Statement – Physician statement within last 12 months
  • Driver’s License/State ID – Unexpired government-issued photo ID
  • Color Vision Test
  • OSHA Questionnaire – Candidate completes only
  • Pre-Orientation CBL Acknowledgement
