LDRP RN Position - Longmont, Colorado

Unit Information

• Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Mother-Baby (L&D/PP/MB)
• L&D Beds: 12-bed LDRP unit
• Operating Room Suites for C-Sections: 1 C-Section room
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

  • Labor patients: 1:1
  • Couplets (mother and baby): 1:2-3
• Orientation: 1-3 shifts with a preceptor
• Additional Patient Care: Occasionally care for overflow mastectomy patients (typically overnight stay)

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring OR Continuous Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of LDRP experience within the last 3 years
• Comfortable caring for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
• Triage experience required
• Comfortable circulating and recovering C-Sections
• Prefer prior travel nursing experience
• Ability to titrate drips such as Pitocin and Magnesium

Scheduling & Shifts

• Shift: 7am-7pm (day shift) and 7pm-7am (night shift), every other weekend (EOW) for night shifts
• Schedule is created by leadership for 6 weeks at a time
• Travelers expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
• Time off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment
• Weekend Requirement: 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
• Holiday Requirement: May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Call/Standby: Rare, only for low census situations
• Floating: None

Additional Information

• Radius requirement: Must submit valid driver’s license within 60 miles
• Week of orientation: Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, even if some modules are remote
• Dress code: Blue hospital scrubs provided
