Travel RN Medical/Surgical Job - Tulsa, Oklahoma
Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
- Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (American Heart Association certification required)
- Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
- Pharmacology exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Medical Surgical exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Core Competencies training (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
- Skills Checklist (clinical specialty, completed within one year of start, updated annually)
- Cerner Test-Out (training and test results required)
- Driver’s License/State ID (valid, must match address requirements)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit Test: Required annually; preferred prior to start
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
Onboarding and Professional Requirements
- Completion of Ascension-specific onboarding modules and attestations prior to start
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (completed within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days prior to start
- Education Verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
- Employment Verification for the past seven years
- Professional references (at least two) prior to first assignment
- Badge photo with specific background requirements
Optional
- Unit Specific Checklist (uploaded by unit leader within a week)
- Hiring Manager Evaluation (post-assignment)
This position requires a travel RN with medical/surgical experience, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and meet comprehensive credentialing, health, and onboarding requirements.
