    Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Aberdeen, Washington
    Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
    Facility Type: Outpatient Cancer Care and Diagnostic Imaging Center
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Position Details

    • Role: Radiation Therapist
    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Shift: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (Day shift)
    • Daily Caseload: 50-60 patients
    • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
    • First-time Travelers: Accepted
    • Weekend Work: Not required
    • On-call: Not required
    • Floating: Not required
    • Block Schedule: Accommodations possible
    • Local Travelers: Not eligible if residing within 50 miles of the facility
    • Pending License: Accepted
    • Special Requirements: Experience with SRS, SBRT, IMRT, 3D, IGRT, electron setups; variety of malignant and benign patient diagnoses
    • Charting System: EPIC

    Required Certifications and Licenses

    • Washington State License
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT-T (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Therapeutic)

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • Education verification required for all candidates
    • State-specific searches and registry checks as applicable (Washington state requirements)
    • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Immunizations and health documents required:
      • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
      • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
      • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
    • Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)
    • Respirator safety clearance required for travel candidates (updated annually)

    Documentation and Training

    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
    • Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting (6 months for CNAs)
    • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
    • Radiation badge issued by facility (not candidate responsibility)
    • Passport-style badge photo required
    • Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
      • Core modules based on profession and region
      • Specialty-specific modules if applicable
      • Annual regulatory requirements
      • Epic training modules (for applicable regions)

    Additional Notes

    • Travelers must submit all required documentation and background checks prior to start
    • Local travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for travel contracts
    • Pending licenses are accepted with proper documentation
    • Floating to other units or facilities is not required but block scheduling can be accommodated

    This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized outpatient cancer care setting with a high patient volume and advanced radiation therapy techniques. Candidates should be prepared to meet comprehensive compliance and training requirements to ensure readiness for assignment.
