Location: Hazard, Kentucky

Job Description

  • Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years OR RN circulator experience
    • Strong experience in Orthopedics
    • Experience with Endoscopy, General Surgery, and ENT cases preferred
    • Previous travel experience preferred
  • Schedule: Call rotation plus every 6th or 7th weekend
  • No block scheduling
  • Must reside within 100 miles of the facility
  • Orientation offered bi-weekly
  • Candidates must be ready for interview upon shortlisting

Required Credentials & Compliance

  • Certifications:
    • BLS (American Heart Association card, front and back if not electronic)
    • ACLS (AHA card, front and back if not electronic)
  • Licenses:
    • Valid RN license for Kentucky or compact license valid in KY
    • Nursys verification within 30 days of start
  • Health Requirements:
    • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer (with follow-up dosing if needed)
    • Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination
    • Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer (with follow-up dosing if needed)
    • Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (declinations accepted)
    • Annual physical or physician statement within 1 year prior to start, stating clear to work without restrictions
    • Influenza vaccine administered on or after August 1 (October-March season) or approved medical/religious exemption
    • TB Quantiferon blood test within 1 year prior to start
    • If positive TB record, proof of chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire
  • Background & Professional Checks:
    • ARH 20/20 Background Check (7-year county, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, sex offender, SAM, OIG) within 30 days prior to start
    • ARH Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start
    • 2 professional references required (1 charge or higher, 1 supervisor reference within last year)
  • Drug Screen:
    • ARH 20/20 Drug Screen within 30 days of start (excludes marijuana/THC)
  • Competency & Skills:
    • ARH Skills Checklist within 1 year prior to start
    • ARH Competency Exam within 1 year prior to start (actual documents required, no certificates)
    • ARH Core Competencies (HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives) annual update required
  • Additional Documentation:
    • Signed and dated specialty job description (annual update required)
    • ARH Assignment Confirmation form to be uploaded within 24 hours of offer acceptance
    • ARH Employee Health Attestation Form completed prior to compliance deadline
