Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years current Labor & Delivery experience
• Certifications required:

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • NRP (American Heart Association)
  • Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
• Experience with Meditech EMR system
• Must hold a valid Kentucky nursing license or a compact license valid in Kentucky
• Must reside within 100 miles of the facility
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly
• Work schedule: 36 hours worked / 48 hours off over a two-week pay period
• Ratios may fluctuate based on census and call-ins

Required Credentials and Compliance

• Licenses:

  • Current nursing license verified through Nursys within 30 days of start
  • Kentucky or compact license verification updated on extensions
• Certifications:

  • BLS (front and back of certificate if not electronic)
  • ACLS (front and back of certificate if not electronic)
  • NRP (AHA only)
  • NIH Certification (required for RN specialties except OR and Psych)
• Health Requirements:

  • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer prior to start
  • Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination accepted
  • Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer prior to start
  • Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (declinations accepted)
  • Annual physical or physician statement within 1 year prior to start, stating clear to work without restrictions
  • QuantiFERON TB blood test within 1 year prior to start
• Background and Screening:

  • ARH 20/20 Background Check within 30 days prior to start (includes 7-year county, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, sex offender, SAM, OIG)
  • Drug screen per ARH 20/20 standards (excludes marijuana/THC)
  • Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start
• Competency and Skills:

  • Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year prior to start
  • Competency exam within 1 year prior to start (actual documents required, no certificates)
  • EKG and Telemetry exam within 1 year prior to start
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, patient rights, safety, infection control, elder abuse, cultural diversity, advance directives (annual update required)
• Professional References:

  • Two professional references required, including one supervisor or charge nurse reference within the last year

Additional Notes

• Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Influenza vaccine required September 1 - May 31; medical and religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation (agency or other health system exemptions not accepted)
• Background checks and credential updates require annual renewal
• Must not be submitted to more than one job at a time

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who meet the certification and licensing requirements and are comfortable working a travel contract with a defined schedule and orientation process.
