Physical Therapist (PT) - Springfield, Vermont (Temp Contract)

Job Overview

• Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)

Facility & Work Environment

• Small community setting without public transportation; personal vehicle required.
• Facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital offering inpatient and outpatient PT and rehab services.
• Typical patient load: ~8 patients/day Monday-Thursday, 6 patients on Friday.
• PT/Rehab Department holiday closures:

  • Closed Thanksgiving and the Friday after
  • Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
  • Open Christmas Eve and Day after Christmas (with flexible scheduling)
• Outpatient PT clinics closed on major holidays.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide evaluations and treatments including manual techniques and therapeutic exercises.
• Treat a variety of diagnoses including:

  • Orthopaedic and sports injuries
  • Gait and balance training
  • Fractures, sprains, dislocations
  • Musculoskeletal dysfunctions
  • Neck and back pain
  • Neurological disorders (stroke, Parkinson’s)
  • Bone and joint diseases
  • Hand injuries
  • Workplace injuries
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence
  • Pulmonary rehabilitation
• Must be able to work inpatient PT as needed and treat all typical outpatient diagnoses.
• Collaborate with PTAs (preferred experience).

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years current PT experience (new graduates not considered).
• Previous rehab experience required.
• Previous travel experience required (minimum 3 months).
• Graduate from an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• Must have updated CAQH and NPI in profile.
• CPSI EMR experience highly preferred.
• Must be flexible to work inpatient PT as needed.
• Must have own vehicle due to lack of public transport.
• Vermont PT license must be in hand at profile upload (no pending licenses accepted).
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• Profile must include:

  • Work history
  • Skills checklist (updated within 1 year)
  • One supervisory signed reference from past 2 years
  • License and certifications uploaded

Additional Notes

• Requested time off during assignment must be submitted and approved at profile upload; no more than 5 days allowed.
• OT paid at flat hourly rate; holiday and call-back pay at 1.25x.
• Call pay available.

This position is ideal for experienced traveling physical therapists who are comfortable working in both inpatient and outpatient settings within a small community hospital environment.
