Description

Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position

Location: Asheville, North Carolina (Services provided in Macon County, NC)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Setting: Home Health and Hospice care, patients seen in their personal homes or assisted living facilities
Number of Beds: Approximately 70 patients served by multiple disciplines
Staffing: About 25 staff members including PTs, PTAs, OTs, RNs, CNAs, and Social Workers
Shift: Day shift, office hours 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday-Friday; nurse on call 24/7
Patient Ratios: Approximately 6 visit equivalents per day
EMR System: Cerner

Job Requirements

Specialty: Physical Therapy (PT)
Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Physical Therapy
Prior Travel Experience: Not required
Certifications: Current NC Physical Therapy license, BLS/CPR certification
Skill Set Must-Have:
- Experience completing OASIS Assessments
- Home Health experience
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of the new payment model (PDGM effective 1-1-20)

Typical Duties

Comprehensive assessments and evaluations
Treatment and care planning
Oversight of PTAs
Patient population primarily geriatric, including post-acute treatment of total hip and knee arthroplasty (THA/TKA) patients, and patients with chronic illnesses and multiple comorbidities

Work Environment & Culture

Friendly, easy-going personality preferred
Comfortable visiting patients in their homes
Acceptance and friendliness towards diverse patients and staff
Dress code: Business casual, closed-toed shoes; scrubs not required
Weekends: On-call or weekend work only as needed, not routine

Additional Notes

Floating to other areas is not required
Unit policies and guidelines will be discussed during the interview process

Cons

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
