Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position

Location: Asheville, North Carolina (Services provided in Macon County, NC)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Setting: Home Health and Hospice care, patients seen in their personal homes or assisted living facilities
  • Number of Beds: Approximately 70 patients served by multiple disciplines
  • Staffing: About 25 staff members including PTs, PTAs, OTs, RNs, CNAs, and Social Workers
  • Shift: Day shift, office hours 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday-Friday; nurse on call 24/7
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 6 visit equivalents per day
  • EMR System: Cerner

Job Requirements

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in North Carolina
  • Physical Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • Experience in a Home Health setting, including completing OASIS Assessments

Typical Duties

  • Comprehensive assessments and evaluations
  • Treatment and care planning
  • Oversight of PTAs
  • Patient population primarily geriatric, including post-acute treatment of total hip and knee arthroplasty (THA/TKA) patients, and patients with chronic illnesses and multiple comorbidities

Work Environment & Culture

  • Friendly, easy-going personality preferred
  • Comfortable visiting patients in their homes
  • Acceptance and friendliness towards diverse patients and staff
  • Dress code: Business casual, closed-toed shoes; scrubs not required
  • Weekends: On-call or weekend work only as needed, not routine

Additional Notes

  • Floating to other areas is not required
  • Unit policies and guidelines will be discussed during the interview process
