Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 18 weeks
Job Overview
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Facility Type: Hospital (Level I Trauma Center)
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no time off approved between Christmas and New Year's
- No block scheduling, including floating blocks
- 4-5 calls within a 6-week matrix with a 30-minute callback response
- 4-5 weekend shifts within a 6-week matrix; weekends may be day, evening, or night shifts
- Holidays assigned per department needs; shifts may be day, evening, or night
- Floating as needed
- Must be able to scrub and circulate in the OR
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience
- Level I Trauma experience required; must have at least Level II trauma experience (>1 year)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with DaVinci Xi robotic system required; familiarity with DaVinci DV5 is a plus
- Must be proficient and able to function independently in the following specialties:
- Robotics (general, gynecology, thoracic, urology)
- Orthopedics
- General Surgery
- Gynecology (GYN)
- Urology
- Bariatrics
- ENT
- Plastics
- Vascular
- Thoracic (excluding cardiac and open heart)
- Trauma
Work Requirements
- Respond to call within 30 minutes
- Work 4-5 weekend shifts and 4-5 calls in a 6-week period
- Expected to work at least 1 major holiday
- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
Orientation & Screening
- Candidate will undergo clinical screening for fit and compliance with guidelines
- Manager interview required
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
Required Certifications & Documents
- Current State RN License (primary source verification required)
- ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) recommended
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as applicable
- National Tech Certification as applicable
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (except OR and Home Health)
- NURSYS Verification for RN license
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (pass/fail)
Background & Health Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending if on file within 45 days
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 5 years; can start with results pending if on file within 45 days
- Pennsylvania PATCH Search (state police criminal history) required and must be finalized prior to start
- Education verification of highest degree required
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series plus declination form)
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption required annually
- COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted
- Drug screening (9-panel) required within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
- Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year and renewed annually

- Other robotic experience (orthopedic/neuro robots) not relevant
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free; candidates must be notified prior to submission
This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with strong trauma and robotic surgery skills looking for a challenging contract in a Level I trauma hospital setting.
