Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
Schedule:
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (07:00 - 19:30)
- No block scheduling or floating blocks
- Call: 4-6 calls within a 6-week period (30-minute response required)
- Weekends: 4-6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period (can be days, evenings, or nights)
- Holidays: Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays; some holiday dates are not approved for time off
- Floating as needed
Unit: Pre-Screen Unit (clinical review and manager interview required)
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience
- Level I Trauma experience required (Level II trauma experience minimum of 1 year)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
Clinical Skills & Proficiencies:
- Must be proficient and able to function independently in:
- Robotics (DaVinci Xi robot required; bonus for DaVinci DV5 familiarity)
- Orthopedics
- General Surgery
- Gynecology (GYN)
- Urology
- Bariatrics
- ENT
- Plastics
- Vascular
- Thoracic (excluding cardiac and open heart)
- Trauma
- Prefer RNs who can scrub and circulate
- Only DaVinci Xi and DV5 robots are used; other robotic experience (ortho/neuro) not applicable

Required Certifications & Documents
Licenses & Certifications:
- State Nursing License (primary source verification)
- ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Other certifications as applicable (PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke, etc.) depending on unit requirements
- Tech Cert Verification (national) as applicable
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (except OR and Home Health)
- NURSYS Verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
Background Checks & Verifications:
- 7-year criminal background check (including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender registry) within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- PA FBI Fingerprinting within 1 year of start (must be on file within first 45 days of assignment)
- Education verification (highest level)
- Pending background check attestation if results are pending at start
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (PA Childline) within 5 years, results must be on file within 45 days of assignment start
- Pennsylvania PATCH Search (criminal history) within 1 year, must be finalized prior to start
Health & Immunization Requirements:
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days (PPD not accepted)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Flu seasonal vaccination or medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
Other Required Documents:
- Clear, professional passport-style photo for badge
- WellSpan Health forms including Medical Statement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Non-Employee Affidavit, I9 Attestation, Documentation Attestation
- Completion of WellSpan LMS modules and New Hire Orientation by specified deadlines
Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health
- Other competency exams as applicable by specialty
References & History
- Two professional references within 3 years required
- Most recent resume or employment application required
- Annual skills checklist required
- Performance evaluations completed onsite by unit managers during assignment
Notes
- Maximum return to office (RTO) time: 7 days
- Candidate must be able to work independently without refresher training
- Facility enforces tobacco and fragrance-free policy
- Candidate may be required to float as needed
- Some holidays are restricted for time off and require coverage
