Description

Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Opportunity

Location: Rapid City, South Dakota

Facility Overview

2 Cath labs, 2 Hybrid peripheral/OR suites
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler
Travelers must live at least 100 miles away from the facility

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years experience required with coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases
First-time travelers accepted only if very experienced in the above areas

Patient Types

Coronary artery disease, STEMI, cardiogenic shock
Complex total occlusions, diagnostic Cath procedures
Valvular disease, renal disease, carotid stenosis
Limb salvage, peripheral stenosis, thrombosis disease
Impella and LVAD insertions

Patient Ratios

RN to patient ratio: 1:1

Required Certifications & Education

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, RT or equivalent, or RCIS required
Education: AA/AAS Degree for Tech

Skills Required

Minimum 2 years with coronary, complex PCI, and peripheral experience
Ability to perform table movement (panning)
Arrhythmia recognition and treatment
Critical patient assessment skills
No floating to IR; IR and Cath Lab are separate departments

Unit Support

Charge nurse available Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
No CNA, phlebotomy, or IV/VAT team support

Scheduling & Orientation

Orientation: 4 days, 10-hour shifts
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM), Sunday through Friday, no Saturdays
Weekend rotation: every 4th weekend
On-call: 1-2 days per week from 4:30 PM to 6:00 AM, plus every 4th weekend on call from Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 6:00 AM
Holiday: Possibly 1 holiday per assignment
Time off requires manager approval
