Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Radiation Badge must be supplied and in hand prior to start

  • Emergent Revascularization
  • Left Heart Catheterization (LHC)
  • Right Heart Catheterization (RHC)
  • ATK Peripheral Diagnostic/Interventional
  • Cardioversion
  • Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
  • Device placements
  • Pericardiocentesis
  • Temporary Pacemaker
  • Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)
  • Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO)

Experience / Skills Required

• Scrub role only; planning done by Rad Tech
• Experience with STEMI cases preferred
• Familiarity with use of:

  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
  • Impella
  • Shockwave (preferred)
  • Laser
  • IFR/FFR (Instantaneous wave-Free Ratio/ Fractional Flow Reserve)
  • IVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound)
  • Rotapro
  • 4 port manifold

Equipment / EMR

• EPIC
• Philips Xper (Hemodynamics)
• Siemens C-Arm
• IABP, Impella, Shockwave, Laser, IFR/FFR, IVUS, Rotapro

Staffing & Support

• Intensivist MD in-house 24/7
• Cardiology MD on call after hours, available 24/7
• 1-2 Team Leads on every shift
• Charge nurse presence varies; team leads manage scheduling

Shifts & Scheduling

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM plus call
• Scheduling posted 17 days prior, for 6 weeks at a time
• Flexible shift options: 4 to 10-hour shifts instead of standard 5-8 hour shifts

Call Requirements

• Weeknight call: 1 day per week (3:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday to Thursday)
• Weekend call: Every third weekend (Friday to Monday morning), 24-hour coverage plus Monday night 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Holiday call: Every other holiday
• Call response time: 20 minutes

Orientation & Additional Notes

• Unit/department-specific orientation: 1 week
• Scrub color/dress code provided
• Dedicated work shoes required; lead apron provided if traveler does not have one
• Bring your own lock for locker
• Radius rule: 50 miles
• Candidates may not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities
• Return to office (RTO) needed upfront (7 or fewer days for the 13-week contract); no additional RTO approved
