Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts plus call
Weekends: Rotating weekends required
Call: Yes, 1 day per week

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience
• Licensure: Louisiana state license or Compact license required
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only (required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only (required for CVOR)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Preferred for CVOR
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) - Preferred for CVOR
• Travel Experience: Requested
• Skills: CVOR specialty skills required

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within a year of start, updated annually
• Must cover all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Instant state searches acceptable while county checks are pending
• International searches not required

Competencies and Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for all RNs)
• General Competency Exam (required for all clinical candidates)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of dress code policy review
• Information security and confidentiality agreements
• PHI pledge of confidentiality
• Clinical onboarding exam
• New hire and annual education review and exam
• TB questionnaire completion prior to start
• COVID-19, flu, and other vaccine exemption forms if applicable

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Initial physical exam, updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 30 days of start
• TB questionnaire updated annually (no annual TB test required)
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination (fully vaccinated required) with facility-specific exemption process
