Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Respiratory Therapy
Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:30 - 19:00)
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Number of Openings: 1
Weekend Hours: As required by facility
Call Requirements: As required by facility
Float Requirements: As required by facility

Licensure & Certifications

Required Licensure: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), licensed with Missouri Board for Respiratory Care
Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association only)
Preferred Certifications: PALS

Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience
Must have skills/experience in adult critical care and working in a high-volume, busy Emergency Department (ED) with trauma experience
Preferred skills: blood gas draw, blood gas processing on GEM, blood gas interpretation

Unit & Patient Information

Licensed for 767 beds
Patient ratios based on a point system and dependent on staffing
Equipment used includes Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilators, V60 Bipap, Bellavista (coming soon), Vapotherm, and Airvo for high flow oxygen therapy
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: EPIC
Patient population includes respiratory patients across all hospital areas: SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, Trauma
Pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and transported to a sister hospital

Personality & Dress Code

Strong, confident therapist with good time management skills
Willingness to assist coworkers as time allows
Dress code: Black scrubs only (Mercy standard)
