Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Pediatrics)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Pediatric Registered Nurse
- Schedule: Alternating Day/Night shifts, 36 hours every other week
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years pediatric nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Start Date: December 3, 2025
- Patient Ratio: 1:3, up to 1:4 with lower acuity patients
- Patient Diagnoses:
- Prematurity
- Apnea of Prematurity (AOP)
- Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP)
- Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia/Chronic Lung Disease (BLD/CLD)
- Cardiac defects
- Feeding issues
- Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), including iatrogenic NAS
- Special Equipment:
- Trach/ventilator care
- PICCs/Central Lines
- Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)/Intravenous Lipids (IL)
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Maryland RN license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- Weekend/Holiday Work:
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays as scheduled
- Floating: Required within specialty or sister units as needed
- On-Call: Not required
Compliance & Documentation
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Social Security trace, county, nationwide, sex offender, OFAC, education verification
- Maryland Medicaid/Medical Provider Sanction List check within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including latex allergy screening
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for pediatric units)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or completed series required
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required for 2025-26 season
- COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation may be collected for tracking
- Negative drug screen (9 or 10 panel depending on location) within required timeframe
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80%+)
- Age-specific competency exam (score 80%+)
- Color blindness testing
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam not required at this facility
- Facility Specific Documents:
- Photo for badge (passport style with solid background)
- Signed job description prior to start
- Confidentiality agreement signed prior to start
- Dress code review prior to start
- Badge application (time sensitive)
- Latex allergy questionnaire
- References & History:
- Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
- Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
- Verification of previous 5 years of employment history (attestation accepted if necessary)
- State Specific:
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start

- Portfolio Epic training test-out option available for eligible candidates
- Floating may be required within specialty or sister units
- No on-call duties required
