Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Augusta, Georgia

Experience & Patient Population
- Minimum Experience: 2 years (1st time travelers accepted)
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
Unit & Work Setting
- Telemetry unit
- Common Diagnoses: CHF, MI/Chest pain (pre- and post-cath), Dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), Hypo-/Hypertension, Pleural effusion, Sepsis, PE/DVT/vascular issues
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
- Census: 16 rooms
- Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Schedule & Requirements
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes
- Call: None
- Holidays:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays, expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays, expected to work 2 of them
- Major Holidays Include: New Year’s Eve/Day, Spring Break (no RTO), Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time
- Non-compliance results in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours)
Required Documentation & Compliance
Background Checks & Verifications
- Background check required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required (degree related to specialty)
- State License verification (Georgia RN license required)
- Annual NURSYS verification
- Transcript/Diploma may be required
- References: 2 clinical references required
- Work history verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (TB questionnaire required annually)
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination required (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (cannot start with results pending)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required by agency)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry and related units; 3 attempts allowed)
- General Competency Exam (required by agency)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
Additional Notes
- Candidates will be pre-screened clinically for fit before manager review
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Floating required
- No call requirements
- Must be fully compliant with all documentation and certifications before start to avoid delays
