Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Oxford, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA preferred
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA and ARC preferred, required prior to start and must be current throughout assignment
  • Education & Licensure:
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Current RN license in North Carolina
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years preferred
    • Travel nursing experience preferred
  • EMR System: MEDITECH (experience not required)

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
  • Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • Must cover all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
    • Education verification (diploma acceptable if education cannot be verified)
  • State License Verification (Primary Source Verification)
  • NURSYS Verification (for all RNs)
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Employment Application/Resume
  • Skills Checklist (updated annually for applicable units)
  • Performance and Internal Evaluations (if applicable based on tenure)

Certifications (Additional as applicable)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required for ER, ICU, OR
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Required for Labor & Delivery
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - Required for Labor & Delivery, AWHONN certification required, must be updated every 2 years
  • STABLE - Preferred for Labor & Delivery
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)

Health Requirements

  • Initial physical exam, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 4 weeks of start
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Facility-Specific Medical/Religious Exemption required during flu season (Sept 18 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 Vaccinations: Not required but preferred

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of online training modules via Relias Learning Management System prior to start
  • Job Description acknowledgment required
  • First Day Instructions provided

This position is ideal for experienced ER RNs with required certifications and licensure who are comfortable working in a travel/contract role in North Carolina. Compliance with background checks, health documentation, and facility-specific training is mandatory.
