Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech (Travel)
Location: Houston, Texas
Unit Information
- Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab
- Number of Beds: 2 procedure rooms
- Staffing:
- Total staff: 9 (RNs and Cath Lab Techs)
- Day Shift: 1 supervisor, 4 RNs, 2 Cath Lab Techs
- Night Shift: On-call staff only (2 RNs and 1 Cath Lab Tech or 1 RN and 2 Cath Lab Techs)
- Patient Ratios: 3 team members per 1 patient procedure
- Equipment: Phillips and Siemens Fluoro equipment
- EMR Systems: MERGE Hemo (Cath Lab documentation), Meditech
Typical Procedures
- Left and right heart catheterizations
- Pacemaker/ICD and Watchman device procedures
- Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures
- Vascular procedures
- Electrophysiology (EP) Ablations
Required Skills and Certifications
- Must Have:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Cath Lab Tech Certification
- Preferred:
- Electrophysiology experience
Work Schedule and Environment
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Floating Areas: Pre/Post Cath Department
- Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs, sky blue color
- Shift Requirements:
- One full weekend plus 2 weekdays per 4-week schedule (total 10 shifts)
- Unit Policies:
- Procedural guidelines including universal precautions, timeout procedures, and moderated sedation guidelines
