Job Description

  • Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
  • Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Follow physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

  • 13 weeks

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start

Required Exams & Competencies

  • Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly)
  • NIH Certification (Group A yearly, Groups B-F every 2 years)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated as required)
  • Ascension Epic Test-Out (training and test results required)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start)
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire or 2-Step PPD/IGRA testing
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually

Background & Verification Requirements

  • Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (updated annually)
  • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start
  • Education Verification within 90 days of start
  • Employment Verification for past 7 years (updated annually)
  • Professional References: At least two qualifying references prior to assignment
  • Driver’s License/State ID: Valid and matching address requirements

Onboarding Requirements

  • Completion of required onboarding education and attestations
  • Completion of nursing contingent worker onboarding onsite
  • Submission of required documentation and verifications prior to start

This position requires a highly qualified RN with telemetry experience, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Compliance with all credentialing, health, and background requirements is mandatory.
