Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical

Location: Manning, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Maintain a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and data analysis.
  • Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and physician’s medical plans.
  • Conduct hourly rounds using the 4 P’s (Pain, Position, Personal needs, Placement of items).
  • Foster a caring, compassionate, and respectful environment for patients, families, and visitors.
  • Use appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
  • Care for central lines, chest tubes, Foley and suprapubic catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, and patients at high risk for falls using standard procedures.
  • Precept and mentor novice employees to contribute to department performance.
  • Participate in hospital-system initiatives promoting Evidence Based Practices.
  • Pursue continued professional growth through goal setting and educational opportunities.
  • Understand and manage proper storage and safety of medications, including large volume IVs and pre-packaged kits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Credentials and Compliance

Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (AHA only) – Required before onboarding
  • Nursys License Verification – Nursing license verification within 30 days of start
  • Primary Source License/Certificate Verification – State-specific registry verification required
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID – Copy required before onboarding
  • Social Security Card – Copy required before onboarding

Health Requirements

  • MMR – Proof of 2 immunizations or titer with lab report; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B – Proof of 3 vaccinations or titer with lab report; no declinations accepted
  • Varicella – Proof of 2 immunizations or titer with lab report; no declinations accepted
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) – 1st test within 1 year, 2nd within 30 days of start; negative Q-Gold or Tspot within 90 days also accepted
  • Drug Screen – 10 panel drug screening completed within 30 days of start (rapid screen not accepted)

Optional/Seasonal Requirements

  • Fit Test – Recommended for travelers, valid within 1 year
  • Influenza Vaccine – Required September through April; medical/religious exemptions considered with documentation
  • Annual Negative PPD, TB Questionnaire, Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray – Optional based on individual health status

Professional Requirements

  • Criminal Background Check – Must include county, statewide, national search, OIG, EPLS, OFAC, NSOP, SS Trace, and education verification; completed within 60 days of start covering last 7 years; updated annually
  • Employment Verification – Past 5 years required
  • Skills Checklist – Clinical skills checklist completed prior to start and updated annually
  • Resume/Profile Submission – Required for submission; references preferred but not mandatory
  • Confirmation of Assignment Form – Required before onboarding
