Travel RN Opportunity – Med/Surg Unit, Frankfort, KY

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg

Unit Information

• Unit: 611 – 4th Floor Med/Surg
• Number of Beds: 46
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Staffing: Clinical Nurse Coordinators (charge nurse), RNs, LPNs, PCTs, Nurse Externs, Unit Clerks (staffing based on patient census)
• Equipment: GE Apex Pro Telemetry box, Hoyer lift, Sara Steady, Baxter IV pumps, iMobile, Alaris PCA IV pump, Welch Allen Vitals machine, Glucometer
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling: Every other weekend, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Floating Policy: May float to 3 South (post-surgical med/surg) or PCU (telemetry overflow)
• Procedures Performed: Telemetry monitoring, paracentesis

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum of 2 years med/surg experience
• General med/surg skills
• Telemetry experience required
• Post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) experience required
• EKG interpretation
• CPap management
• Port access

Preferred Advanced Skills

• Chest tubes
• NG tubes
• Wound vac
• Drains
• Post-dialysis assessment
• Central lines
• Blood transfusions

Certifications & Licenses

• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing (compact license accepted if applicable)
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Current NIH certification (must be renewed annually)

Dress Code

• Navy blue or gray scrubs only
• No T-shirts, fleece jackets, or sweatshirts
• Scrub jackets and long sleeve shirts under scrub tops may be any color or pattern
• No royal blue scrubs permitted (reserved for OB/LD staff for infant safety)
