Travel RN Surgery Position
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.
Work Complexity
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment
- Follow Standard Precautions and use PPE as required.
Required Credentials & Compliance
- BLS Certification (AHA required)
- Nursys Verification within 30 days prior to start (including FACIS Questionnaire if disciplinary actions exist)
- Current Nursing License and Primary Source Verification within 30 days prior to start
- Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Specialty Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years)
- Core Competencies Training (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
- Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Nova StatStrip Training
- Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer (no declinations)
- Fit Test: Annual, preferred prior to start
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (mask required if declined)
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, annual TB questionnaire
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines (no declinations)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations)
- Health Statement: Annual statement of good health or physical exam
- Driver’s License/State ID: Valid, must match address requirements
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Within 90 days of start, annual updates
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, annual updates
- Criminal Background Check: Including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, updated annually
- EPLS Check: Within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
- Skills Checklist: Clinical skills verification within 1 year, updated annually
- Education Verification: Within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
- Employment Verification: Past 7 years, updated annually
- Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions
