Travel RN Surgery Position

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide direct nursing care following healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Follow and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with healthcare team members.

Work Complexity

• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follow Standard Precautions and use PPE as required.

Required Credentials & Compliance

• BLS Certification (AHA required)
• Nursys Verification within 30 days prior to start (including FACIS Questionnaire if disciplinary actions exist)
• Current Nursing License and Primary Source Verification within 30 days prior to start
• Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
• Specialty Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
• Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years)
• Core Competencies Training (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
• Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
• Nova StatStrip Training
• Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist
• Immunizations and Health Requirements:

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer (no declinations)
  • Fit Test: Annual, preferred prior to start
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (mask required if declined)
  • TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, annual TB questionnaire
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines (no declinations)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations)
• Health Statement: Annual statement of good health or physical exam
• Driver’s License/State ID: Valid, must match address requirements
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Within 90 days of start, annual updates
• 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, annual updates
• Criminal Background Check: Including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, updated annually
• EPLS Check: Within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
• Skills Checklist: Clinical skills verification within 1 year, updated annually
• Education Verification: Within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
• Employment Verification: Past 7 years, updated annually
• Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions
