Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Travel Position

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel

Job Details

• Facility Unit: Speech Therapy, Main Hospital
• Patient Caseload: 15-36 patients
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 6:1, depending on patient complexity and evaluations
• Staffing:

  • 2 current full-time SLPs
  • 1 new full-time SLP starting soon
  • 2 PRN SLPs
  • Ideal coverage: 3 SLPs Monday-Friday, 2 on Saturday, 1 on Sunday
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• Floating Policy: None
• Documentation System: Meditec Expanse
• Dress Code: Scrubs

Patient Population & Experience Requirements

• ICU, trauma, neuro patients
• Independent with MBSS (Modified Barium Swallow Study)
• FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) desirable but not required
• Strong skills in bedside swallow assessments and cognitive assessments
• Experience with tracheostomies and Emergency Department patients

Required Skills & Certifications

• Certifications:

  • CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • New Hampshire SLP License
• Skills:

  • Strong bedside swallow assessment skills
  • MBSS capability
  • Flexibility and strong communication skills
• Advanced Skills:

  • FEES equipment available, but not required to perform

Contract Length

Experience Required
