Travel RN - Hospice
Location: Rockport, Maine
Specialty: Hospice

Shift: Night Shift, 7 PM - 7 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in hospice or home health nursing (higher value between 1 and 2 years)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
- Certifications: BLS required
- Education Modules: Per hospice protocol
Job Details
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Rotation: Every 4th weekend with a set day off before or after
- On-Call: Rotated among staff; approximately 1 weekday on-call per week (5 PM to 8 AM) and 1 weekend per month (Friday 5 PM to Monday 8 AM)
- Float Requirements: None
Patient Care & Workload
- Patient Ratios: Manage 14-18 patients based on acuity
- Visits: Expectation of 5-6 patient visits per day
- Productivity: Minimum 25 units per week (SOC = 2 units; Recert = 1 unit; DC = 1 unit)
- Patient Types: Adult med-surg, oncology, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, wound care, GI, GU
Skills & Experience
- Must Have: Experience with Epic EMR system
- Preferred: Skills with PICC lines/dressing changes, tracheostomies, port access, ostomies, chest tubes, Pleurex drains, catheters, lab draws (UA, C&S)
- Personality Fit: Collaborative, team-oriented, good communication, open to feedback
Equipment & Technology
- Agency laptop, iPhone with case and chargers, nursing supply bin, nursing bag with vital signs equipment
- EMR system: Epic
- Use of in-home infusion pumps
- No ventilators or invasive monitoring
Additional Information
- Must be able to case manage and self-schedule patients
- Dress code: Business casual or scrubs (any color); no jeans, open-toed shoes, or clothing with holes

Generally speaking, Host Healthcare doesn't always have the highest rate on the market. Having gone with competing agencies in the past, I have often been disappointed and unsupported and ultimately found it wasn't worth the small pay bump
