Travel RN Opportunity – Nashville, Tennessee

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Experience Required
• Employment Type: Travel
• Location: Nashville, TN
• Unit: Neurovascular Intensive Care Unit (NVICU)
• Unit Size: 16 beds
• Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1; may vary between 1:1 and 3:1 depending on patient acuity and staffing
• Scheduling:

  • Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • Self-scheduling available to some extent
  • Manager may adjust shifts to balance the schedule
• Floating Policy: Contract staff float first; may be required to float to med/surg units as needed

Unit Environment & Equipment

• Staffing Support: Unit secretary staffed during day shift; occasional nurse externs assist as techs
• Equipment Used: Ventilators, External Ventricular Drains (EVDs), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Sustained Low-Efficiency Dialysis (SLED), EV 1000 monitoring system
• Documentation System: Meditech

Required Certifications & Skills

• Active RN license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Certification
• ICU experience required

Procedures Commonly Performed on Unit

• Central line insertions
• Arterial line insertions
• Lumbar punctures
• Chest tube insertions
• EVD insertions

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)

• Emphasis on providing attentive and compassionate care to patients and families
• Contract length: Approximately 13 weeks
