Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Pediatric ICU or Neonatal ICU
• Must hold Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• PALS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program, AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)
• Current professional license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment
• Driver’s License/State ID (valid, must match address requirements)

Required Health & Safety Documentation

• MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred prior to start
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
• 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start, includes testing for 12 specified drugs

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Completion of Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Onboarding and Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
• Ascension Specialty Exam: Minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
• Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly
• Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start, updated annually
• Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
• Education Verification: Verification of relevant education within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
• Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past 7 years, updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
• Confirmation of Assignment: Provided on agency letterhead with accurate start and end dates
