Description
Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technician
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work hours may vary between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM, 8-hour shifts
- Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes for therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies
- Operate Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT equipment to produce quality diagnostic images
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, technical factors, radiation safety, and basic computer skills
- Registered ARRT (N) and/or NMTCB certification required
- Position shared across multiple facilities; primary location West Burlington with possible work at Fort Madison and Mount Pleasant campuses
- Flexibility to cover multiple sites is required
Required Credentials & Onboarding Requirements
Certifications & Licenses
- Registered ARRT (N) and/or NMTCB certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC accepted) – required before starting
- Professional license verification (primary source verification within 30 days of start)
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
Health & Immunizations
- Drug Screen (10-panel, excluding THC) within 30 days of start
- COVID-19 vaccine (declination accepted)
- MMR: 2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: 2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal
- TB Test: Negative test within past year (TSPOT or QuantiFERON IGG) or documentation if history of positive test
- Fit Test for approved respirators prior to start
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years or declination accepted
- Influenza vaccine required annually by December 1 (vaccine or facility declination accepted)
- Physician health statement within last 12 months
Background & Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start (includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check)
- Iowa Adult and Child Abuse registry check (state requirement)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- SING check within 30 days of start
- NSO and OFAC checks within 30 days of start (may be combined with background check)
- I-9 attestation completed on agency letterhead
- GRH Evergreen Link completion within 48 hours of offer acceptance (required for system access)
- OSHA questionnaire completed by candidate
- Skills checklist completed within last 12 months (does not expire)
- Pre-orientation computer-based learning (CBL) acknowledgement form
Documentation & References
- Resume or profile required for submission
- Two professional references required for submission, including one supervisor reference
- Education verification through third party or combined with diploma/transcripts

- Position requires flexibility to work across multiple campuses within the health system
