Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - OB/Labor and Delivery

Location: Weston, West Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Specialty: OB/Labor and Delivery RN
  • Shift: 4x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • On call, every other weekend, and holidays required
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years required
  • First-time travelers are welcome
  • Work within a 75-mile radius
  • Baby Friendly Designated Hospital
  • Collaborative and engaging team environment
  • Responsibilities include triage, labor & delivery, routine postpartum and newborn care
  • Must be able to multitask and critically think due to dynamic patient needs

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Preferred Certifications

  • STABLE (post-resuscitation care of sick infants)

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
  • 7-year criminal background check (updated annually) including SS Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (updated every contract renewal)
  • Education Verification
  • Physical Exam (initial and updated annually)
  • Drug Testing (10 panel within 30 days of start and updated annually)
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (2-step PPD within 12 months or Qgold/Tspot within 2 years)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (titer within 2 years or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart; signed declination acceptable if negative/low/equivocal)
    • Hepatitis B (titer within 2 years, 3 series vaccine, or declination)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 13 - Apr 30)
  • COVID-19 vaccination no longer required; vaccination records or signed declination accepted

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Completion of Care Learning Modules prior to start date
  • Photo for badge required prior to clearance
  • Background Drug Screen Consent Form must be completed prior to start
  • Non-Disclosure of Confidential Information form required
  • Parking Pass form required
  • ReadySet (RS) Contractor Form and Surveys as applicable
  • Competency exams and core testing as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing Online required
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA form or core testing)

References and History

  • Minimum 2 clinical or charge nurse references within past 2 years
  • Complete application/resume
  • Specialty-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
  • Workers Compensation Documentation preferred but not required

This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive, baby-friendly hospital environment with a focus on labor and delivery nursing. Candidates must be prepared for night shifts, on-call duties, and holiday work, and must maintain all required certifications and documentation for compliance.
