Med Surg/Tele RN (MS2) - Show Low, Arizona

Job Overview

Location: Show Low, Arizona (White Mountains region)
Facility Type: Regional hospital with MedSurg and Telemetry capabilities
Unit Size: 24 beds (MedSurg with Telemetry on all beds)
Patient Population: Adults only (Pediatrics assigned to permanent staff)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- Day: 1:5
- Night: 1:6
- Pediatrics (permanent staff): 1:4 (based on acuity)

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Certifications Required:
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
Preferred Certification:
- PALS
Strong skills in Neurology and Cardiology required

Work Environment & Support

EMR System: Sunrise Allscripts
Support Staff on Unit: Telemetry techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
Nurse Managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
Float assignments include all MedSurg units and ICU (handling MedSurg overflow patients)
Hospitalist coverage 24/7
Respiratory Therapist available 24/7
Pharmacy available 24/7
No IV team on site

Scrub color: Any color except all black
Scrubs are not provided
36-hour work guarantee with up to 3 cancellations allowed

Location Highlights

Close to outdoor activities in the White Mountains
Approximately 2 hours from Flagstaff and Phoenix
